Questions to Ask a Laguna Beach Bondsman

May 10, 2017 No Comments » posted by: Bail Expert

If someone you care for has been arrested and booked into the Laguna Beach Jail, you will want to contact an Orange County bail bondsman as soon as you learn of the arrest.

All California bail bonds (and jail bonds) companies are required to charge the same 10% rate, but that’s not to say that each Laguna Beach bondsman is like the next.  Before you decide which company you want to work with, its best to start off by asking a few questions.

When you contact a bondsman in Laguna Beach ask what types of payments they accept.  Will you need to pay up front, in full, in cash, or can you pay using a debit or credit card.

If you need help with a Laguna Beach bail bonds payment plan ask about the terms and conditions.  How much money will you need for a down payment?  Do they charge interest or finance fees?  Will the balance need to be paid in full within 12 months?

The second question you should ask is whether they post ASAP bail bonds.  If they can’t post bail bonds in the middle of the night or during non-standard business hours, and the defendant has been arrested at night, on a holiday or during a weekend, you may want to hang up and call someone else.

What To Do If You’re Arrested In Laguna Beach

September 28, 2016 Comments Off on What To Do If You’re Arrested In Laguna Beach posted by: Bail Expert

When someone is arrested by a member of the Laguna Beach Police Department, the first thing they’ll want to keep in mind is to stay calm.  Arguing with law enforcement officials, trying to escape and/or trying to talk their way out of the arrest will not do the defendant any favors.

Arrestees should be cooperative, provide basic answers to basic questions (name, address, etc.) and they should refrain from discussing the details of their case with anyone if they do not have an attorney present.  Once they arrive at the jail, they will be provided access to a telephone, at which point they will want to try to contact a friend or family member to ask for help with starting the bail bonds process.

While the defendant is in custody, they should be polite, refrain from making heated political or religious statements and they’ll want to keep in mind that they are not in there to make friends.  For more information on how someone should handle themselves if they are arrested, or for more information on how the Laguna Beach bail bonds process works, call our office now at 888-224-5266.

Is It Hard To Get FTA Bail Bonds In Laguna Beach?

July 18, 2016 Comments Off on Is It Hard To Get FTA Bail Bonds In Laguna Beach? posted by: Bail Expert

My husband was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.  We never got the warrant notice in the mail and we had no idea he was supposed to go to court.  I’ve heard that it’s much harder to get bail bonds for FTA charges.  Is this true?

There is no cut-and-dry answer to this question.  The best we can say is “sometimes.”  When someone is arrested on a failure to appear charge that can, in many cases, lead a bondsman to believe the defendant has a higher risk of not going to court and finishing their case.  On the other hand, California bail bonds companies have worked with many clients who have strong community ties, have good credit and are otherwise considered to be a “low flight risk” who find they are arrested on this type of charge because they never got the notice to appear in the mail. When you start the process of hiring a Laguna Beach bail bonds company be straightforward about your situation.

Can I Get A Message To Someone Who Is Being Held At The Laguna Beach Jail?

March 23, 2016 Comments Off on Can I Get A Message To Someone Who Is Being Held At The Laguna Beach Jail? posted by: Bail Expert

My sister was arrested a couple hours ago and she’s being held a the Laguna Beach Jail.  She’s been trying to contact us but for some reason the calls aren’t going through.  Is there a way to get her a message? We want her to know that we’re in the process of posting her bail bonds.

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is no.  You can’t dial into the jail and speak with the defendant and the jailers will not pass on a message.  It doesn’t matter if the caller is a family member, a Laguna beach bail bondsman or an attorney.

The good news is that posting bail bonds in Laguna Beach is a fast and easy process. In most cases, the defendant can expect to be released from jail within 30 minutes of their bail bonds being posted.  If the bondsman you are working with is able to help you using online bail bonds or e-sign bail bonds, this will also help speed up the process.
