Laguna Beach PD Crime Blotter

Officers within the Laguna Beach Police Department have been quite busy since the start of the month. Below are just a few of the incidents they have investigated.

During the first week of February the LBPD received calls about a suspicious person, a disturbance and a municipal code violation.   They were also notified that a suspect stole a check from someone’s residence and proceeded to cash it.

If the check in question was valued in excess of $900, the suspect could be charged with a felony crime.  It’s unclear whether they could also be prosecuted for identity theft.   As soon as this person is captured they will be booked at the Laguna Beach Jail where they will likely be held pending bail bonds.

The LBPD was also notified about an abandoned vehicle, received a call pertaining to felony grand theft and were asked to look into a stolen vehicle report.  Officers also received calls about public intoxication, vandalism and vehicular burglary.

Anyone who thinks they have information that could help capture those responsible for these crimes are asked to call the department tip line.
