A spokesperson for the Laguna Beach Police Department has confirmed that the LBPD is looking to hire an officer to patrol local beaches.  The new hire, according to a report by, will be charged with “assisting in the patrol and enforcement of municipal and state codes.”

All applicants must have a valid driver’s license; they must also have the ability to obtain a Class C driver’s license, as well.

The Beach Patrol Officer will also help with traffic control and will be charged with interacting with locals and visitors to ensure that codes, rules and regulations are adhered to.

The LBPD is currently seeking applications who feel they have prior work experience that lends itself to the responsibilities of this position.  This includes, but is not limited to, applicants who have experience with customer service, problem solving and cognitive thinking.
